She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Developmental Disabilities. Heather discovered her passion for the field of Applied Behavior Analysis as a child after witnessing firsthand the positive impact ABA treatment had on her family members with Autism Spectrum Disorder. After graduation, she began work with Advanced Child Behavior Solutions (ACBS) LLC as a Registered Behavior Technician and pursued her Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida. Heather had the opportunity to work as a subject matter expert for the BACB in 2017 writing test questions for the RBT examination. Currently, she works as a clinical supervisor at ACBS developing treatment plans, training future RBTs, and overseeing in-home early intervention ABA services for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other disabilities. In addition, she provides consultative behavioral services in Carson City and Lyon County school districts developing behavioral interventions tailored to students with a variety of disabilities and training school personnel on implementation. Heather has been a member of the Nevada Association for Behavior Analysis for several years, and has presented applied intervention posters targeting safety, independence, self-advocacy, and imitation in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Heather looks forward to expanding her knowledge in the field and enjoys any chance to give back to the community that shaped her and has given her numerous opportunities to grow.
